DESCRIPTION:April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) and Citizens Against Spouse Abuse (CASA) needs your help\nThis year marks the 25th anniversary of SAAM. The theme for this year’s SAAM is 25 Years Stronger: Looking Back, Moving Forward. This theme honors the history of the movement and encourages advocates and supporters to consider the future of the movement to end sexual assault.\nChances are someone in your life is a survivor of sexual harassment, assault, or abuse, even if they have never shared their story with you. As a partner in our mission, we would like to invite you to join us in supporting survivors and raising awareness for our cause this April. Here is how you can be a part of this year’s awareness activities:\nStart By Believing Campaign\nThe Start by Believing project, created by End Violence Against Women International (EVAWI), is a campaign to create awareness and inspire action to end sexual violence. The campaign invites individuals and organizations to take the pledge to start by believing someone when they say they’ve been assaulted, support survivors in their healing, and help stop the silence around sexual violence. The campaign hosts an annual Start by Believing day on the first Wednesday of SAAM. We will share on social media.\nPost it on your social media, tag us @citizens against spouse abuse and use #casasedalia #casacares #SAAM2026.\n\n\n\nApril 7th – WEAR TEAL for the National Day of Action!  Teal: The color of sexual violence prevention—to support survivors, spark conversations, and raise awareness.  Post photos wearing teal, tagging CASA, & using #SAAM2026 #casasedalia to raise visibility.\n\nApril 27th – May 1st – Support survivors by participating in WEAR AWARENESS WEEK & show your support and bring awareness to special population victims of sexual assault by dressing as indicated. Whether you participate once or every day, your voice helps strengthen the movement.\nDownload the #30DaysofSAAM 2026 calendarto see all 30 prompts and start planning your posts. Choose the prompts that inspire you and participate at a pace that works for you.
